Electoral College Vs Popular Vote In this blog I will be talking about the sharing my opinion on the electoral college and the popular vote. If you don't know what these two things are, the electoral college is a system based on the population of the state in which is decided how many votes they are allowed. If a candidate is able to receive 270 votes from the Electoral College they are elected president automatically. The popular vote is the people's vote, if you are in favor of a candidate, you will place a vote for that candidate and they will all be counted and the candidate with the most votes wins the popular vote. In my opinion I believe in more of the popular vote because I feel like we are educated enough to make a good decision as a nation. The Electoral College was made for uneducated people in the 1804 when not a lot of people had the privilege of being educated. Times have changed and most people had some sort of education growing up, we can't be living

Today I will be analyzing two political groups and their beliefs on the environment.  On the Liberal Side we have the Sierra Club: Sierra Club believes in protecting the national parks and having peaceful protest to expose environmental problems. Artifact: The point of view of this artifact is to advocate for people going green. As you can see the interest group is pretty open about their issue holding up signs in public saying, "Protect Our Environment. Protect Our Democracy." Also during this protest they wanted to show how the green movement isn't just for hippie white people but it has a diverse culture. This will lead to more people joining the movement and interest group because this will allow people to think that they will be brought in and not left out.  Biases and Limitations:  - There aren't really any biases towards any side because they are very open with their issue and don't have any facts or talk about their side or the other side

Today I'm going to be talking about the media and how it effects political views. I have done research on the Hong Kong protest and I have two news sources, Washington post and Fox news, Washington post coming from a liberal view point and fox news coming from a conservative view point. The Hong Kong began on March 31, 2019 and is still on going. The people of Hong Kong are protesting was because of the proposed legislation Hong Kong extradition bill. They are also demanding for the government to stop calling protesters as "rioters" and are against the police for arresting some protesters and an independent inquiry for police behavior. The first source I am going to be talking about is from the news source Washington post which is from a liberals view point. The article is basically about China vowing to prevent foreign powers from interfering in Hong Kong’s affairs and carrying out acts of separatism, subversion, infiltration and sabotage. In the article they a

President Donald Trump was born on June 14th, 1946 in New York.  He is part of the Republican party and he regularly focuses in issues that focus on the economy, immigration, national security and defense system. An artifact that represents Donald Trump would be his main slogan that he always says, "Make America Great Again." This artifact relates back to him because when he says this he believes that only American born people should live here and not people that migrate here from another country. Donald Trump has influenced a lot of people and many people follow him for believing in the same political views. This shows in the picture above from his website trying to form a team to support him and his ideas. How the "Get involved" is written in bold shows us how Trump wants to really motivate the people that go on his sight to get involved with him and what he is trying to do. The Republican Party is a type of conservative party which was founded in March 20,

What's my typology

Hi everyone my name is Austin Moore, I am 17 years old and I attend Summit Shasta High school and this is my first blog post for AP Gov. I took a quiz that shows your political typology a few days and I ended up being a country first conservative.  If you don't know the country first conservative beliefs, they believe in not worrying about world wide problems and just focusing on their own. They also believe that immigrants shouldn't be allowed in the country and they are very racist and homophobic. I think this quiz wasn't really accurate with giving me my typology but I do believe in we should focus on our own problems. We have too many problems we are facing and we don't have time to be jumping into other countries problems. I don't really see any countries helping us with our problems so why do we need to go out of our way and help them.
